These characters find their origin in all family photos but are taken from their context and removed from all décor to only embrace their support: an offcut of wood, an element that should have been thrown away. All these photographs and the situations they display lose all affective load to simply become a material to be interpreted and a subject to be painted. This detachment tends to give a universality that can appeal to each and every one of us, in a completely personal manner, whether it be a souvenir, a moment, a relationship. In this way, the artist reveals expressions, postures and feelings that revel in sharing.
